Yesterday I went mushroom hunting on Ruissalo, with the sort of helpful Pusunen the overzealous pup. Horns of plenty, also called black chanterelles or black trumpets (Craterellus cornucopioides), are going a little crazy this season, and for the first time we picked more shrooms than we could handle. Mushrooming is all a mind game, once you've engaged your pattern-recognition sensors properly, everything just starts to jump out. But it's all fun and games until you go home and have to spend two hours cleaning your haul.
