A young boy relaxes near the Taj Mahal, the "jewel of Muslim art in India". It was originally constructed out of white marble by 20,000 laborers and 1000 elephants over a total of 22 years, and cost around $1 billion in today's value to build, all in dedication to the memory of a King's favourite wife after her death.

Unfortunately, air pollution has recently been turning the white monument yellow and green, as it is located in Agra, one of the most polluted cities in the world. Polluation here is mostly produced by continuous developmental and construction activities, and alongside the Taj Mahal, poor air quality is also causing high rates of respiratory problems in the local population.
