Although Pen Y Fan is the tallest peak in South Wales, it is a mere 886m tall and the hike starts from about 440m anyway. Being rather more a short walk then, we managed a there-and-back loop in about 2 hours. However, it should be said the last part was closer to a run than a walk, as clouds moved over the area and freezing winds and rains began.
